Phonology
Bašalak (Bashalak) makes use of 27 letters (21 consonants and 6 vowels). Below are the Bašalak glyphs, a single character equivalent, multi-character representations when necessary for non-accented text, and an approximate pronunciation.

The letter glyph - a (a) is frequently dropped in written form. Normally when one consonant follows another there is an assumed "a" between them.

Note that when using the glyphs, Bašalak is written from left to right, with each word being written from top to bottom. If the words are also to be written from left to right, then the individual glyphs should be rotated 90° counter-clockwise.
