Qušą


Phonology
Qušą (Kwushaa) makes use of 36 letters (23 consonants and 13 vowels). Below are the Qušą glyphs, a single character equivalent, multi-character representations when necessary for non-accented text, and an approximate pronunciation.

The letter glyph - aa ("ą" - an unstressed vowel) is frequently not pronounced, and is sometimes dropped in informal writing.

A glottal stop (') is inserted when any vowel follows itself. This is not indicated in the written form when using glyphs, but may be noted in the text representations to serve as an aid to pronunciation.

Note that when using the glyphs, Qušą is written from left to right, with each word being written from top to bottom. If the words are also to be written from left to right, then the individual glyphs should be rotated 90° counter-clockwise.

 


Irregular stress
Syllables containing the vowel "ą" are always unstressed. If there is a multi-syllable word with no other vowels other than "ą" then all syllables are evenly stressed.
